How I Traveled the World with 300 Baht and One Hour

Italy's The Colosseum

I never thought seeing famous landmarks around the world would only take an hour and would only cost 300 baht. Impossible? It’s possible in Mini Siam. Yes, you can feel like you’ve traveled the world when you visit this famous attraction in Pattaya.

Mini Siam lets you see Thailand and the world in one place

Mini Siam is a project that was started in 1986 with the primary objectives of gathering historical and significant landmarks in Thailand in one place, through the construction of scale models, and provide people with an educational experience while enjoying a vacation. The attraction boasts of 55 scale models of famous landmarks in Ayutthaya, Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Sukhothai, and other areas in Thailand.

Not contented with Thai landmarks, the developers also put up the Mini Europe Zone which features 38 scale models of popular landmarks not only in Europe but also in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australia. I just don’t know why they categorized all non-Thai attractions as European.

Still a kid at heart, I told myself that I wouldn’t leave Pattaya without seeing Mini Siam. I was laughing at the thought of me dying to see a theme park that looks like a playground. I didn’t care. I really wanted to see it. So with just a little over an hour to spare and mom’s constant subtle pessimism, we rushed to the attraction. Ticket price was a little steep at 300 baht considering we only had an hour before the park closes.

One hour is actually not enough if you want to view each model in detail. We were only able to take pictures of the more common landmarks and never got to read the introductions beside each model. But I’m sure my group had a lot of fun. I never imagine myself being so financially capable to visit all of those landmarks for real, so seeing scale models was enough for now. Haha.

Egypt's Abusimbel
Check out Mini Siam if ever you get to visit Pattaya. The park is open from 7AM – 10PM daily. I suggest you visit the place at night because the scale models look more vibrant with all the lighting.

    1. You are right sir. There are thousands and it is virtually impossible to visit all of them. This idea is good because it brings together pieces of history.
